Here are our top picks for this weekend!

Welcome to the new and improved Get Out Weekend Planner. We recently combined the Grab & Go Kids Planner with Get Out for a one-stop shop for fun weekend planning.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Why Go?: "Atlas Shrugged" is one of the most requested movies this spring from the controversial bestseller by Ayn Rand. The movie is rates PG-13. To read about the film, click here.

Where/When: , Thursday, 6 to 8 p.m.
Why Go: Calling all knitters, crocheters and stitchers! Come together to share techniques, tips and resources with other creative people. Call 412-798-7323 to register.

Where/When: Verona Presbyterian Church, Friday, 4 to 8 p.m.
Why Go: Stop by for great food, games, Chinese Auction, Children's Corner, live entertainment, a bake sale and plenty of delicious strawberries!

Why Go?: The festival will have food, fun and fellowship! There will be hot dogs, bratwurst, hot sausage, baked beans, strawberry shortcake and strawberry sundaes. There will also be plenty of games for children.

Why Go?: This showing is part of Oaks Theater's 9th annual Moonlit Matinee film festival, presented with the support of the ScareHouse. There will be nightly door prizes!

Why Go?: The band "Back in the Day" will perform at Zanderz Sports Bar in Palmieri's Restaurant.

Why Go?: The work day is organized by PTAG Park Stewards to maintain and improve the park trails. The group will meet at the New Dimension pavilion #27 on the park map.

Why Go?: The Carpenter Log House is located on Pierson Run Road in Murrysville. The Allegheny Foothills Historical Society is sponsoring tours each week.
