Here are our top picks for weekend fun!

Welcome to the new and improved Get Out Weekend Planner. We recently combined the Grab & Go Kids Planner with Get Out for a one-stop shop for fun weekend planning.

It’s Thursday, and you’ve got no idea what you’ll do for the weekend.

Patch is coming to the rescue. We’ve got the best bets for your done-work-outta-here time. Check out our top picks for this weekend to find something for everyone in the family to enjoy.

Where/When: , Thursday, 7:15 p.m.
Why go?: Gateway Hospice and Our Lady of Joy Parish present this identity theft protection program. Plum Borough Police Chief Frank Monaco will speak to the group about protecting yourself from identity theft. Call to RSVP.

Where/When: , Thursday, 9:30 a.m.
Why Go: First time walkers will receive a pedometer and t-shirt. The walk will begin at the library and head around the perimeter of the parking lot at the library, community center and apartments. This program is sponsored by the Allegheny County Library Association in partnership with AARP and Highmark PALS program.

Where/When: Boyce Park, Thursday and Friday, 6 to 8 p.m.
Why Go: People of all ages can learn seed planting techniques concerning annuals, perennials, herbs, grasses and veggies, too.

Why Go: Worship leader Kristian Stanfill will perform. Tickets can be purchased at the church or online.

Why Go?: Community Professional Fridays for families with young children is back. This week’s guest will be Sharon Clougherty from ACHIEVA.

Why Go?: Proceeds for this event will go to Riverview After Prom. There will be more than 50 vendors, craft lovers, art enthusiasts, swimwear, a Chinese auction and more.

Why Go?: The Oakmont Carnegie Library is holding a $5 bag sale to make room for new stock. Shop early for the best selections. There will be coffee and pastries available.

Why Go?: This event is to help raise money for Team Pittsburgh when they compete at the 2012 U.S. Transplant Games. The games benefit the National Kidney Foundation.

Why Go?: The band "8th Street Rox" will perform at Zanderz Sports Bar in Palmieri's Restaurant.
