Grab & Go Kids Planner: Mar. 24 to 27

This weekend, start off spring with a planting class or spend a day at Chuck E. Cheese.

Welcome to the Plum-Oakmont Grab & Go Kids Planner.

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with the family.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance. 

Look for the planner each Thursday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. We want to hear from you!

This week, don't miss the Oblock orientation and the 8th grade activity night! Here are all the details as well as three other of our top family-friendly event suggestions for this weekend and the upcoming week.

 

What:

When: 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 24

Where: 

Cost: Free

The parents of sixth graders will have an orientation at Oblock Jr. High. This is a great opportunity to get familiar with a new school  

 

What:

When: 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 25

Where: 

Cost: Free

Eighth graders at Oblock Junior High School can enjoy a night of basketball, swimming, volleyball and fresh refreshments. Students will also be able to get familiar with Plum Senior High School and everything it has to offer.

 

What: 

When: 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday

Where: Boyce Park

Cost: Free

People of all ages can learn seed planting techniques concerning annuals, perennials, herbs, grasses and veggies, too. 

 

What: A day at Chuck E. Cheese

When: Any day!

Where: Chuck E. Cheese in Monroeville

Start a new tradition of family dinner night any night this weekend. Our suggestion this week is Pizzeria LaCava. Don't forget to try their deep dish pizza!
