Longwood at Oakmont Celebrates Senior Appreciation Day with Better Living Expo

The Plum Borough senior living community's event will be held Wednesday at Longwood's Commons Ballroom, 500 Route 909.

In recognition of Senior Appreciation Day, Longwood at Oakmont, a Presbyterian SeniorCare Continuing Care Retirement Community in Plum, will host a Better Living Expo.

The event will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Throughout the event, local businesses will provide seniors with tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, downsizing and organizing finances.


Attendees will also have an opportunity to participate in breakout sessions on topics such as educational traveling and guarding against identity theft and scams. In addition, they may learn about preventing vision loss with Dr. John Bissell, a Low Vision specialist.

WJAS-AM morning show host Jack Bogut will discuss the importance of communicating and maintaining your family history and legacy, and share his thoughts on living as stress-free of a life as possible,

A Goodwill box and shredder will be available to help attendees get a head start on downsizing and organizing their homes.
