Oakmont Rec Board Kicks Off Playground Commemorative Brick Campaign

The rec board is building a brick path at Riverside Park, and you can purchase an engraved brick.

The Riverside Parks Association and the Oakmont Recreation Board are selling commemorative bricks and benches for the new Riverside Park.

A brick path will be built between the playground and the tennis courts. Engraved bricks will make up the new path.

Here are the options:

A standard size brick that can have up to three lines of type (16 characters per line including spaces) for $75.

An 8-by-8-inch paver that can have up to six lines of type (16 characters per line including spaces) for $200.

Anyone interested also can purchase one of a limited amount of engraveable commemorative stone benches overlooking the Allegheny River for $2,500.

Bricks and benches will become a permanent part of the lower park.

Anyone interested in placing an order can do so at www.oakmontrecreation.org. an order form also has been attached to the media section of this article.

To buy a brick as a Christmas gift order by Dec. 17 and check the gift card box to receive a card with a photo rendering of the brick.

All proceeds will go toward adding new equipment to the playground. The campaign runs through Jan. 31, 2013.
