Oakmont Rec Board Seeks Donations for Splash Pad at Riverside Park

The rec board received a $5,000 donation. About $2,300 is needed to purchase the splash pad for this summer season.

Oakmont Recreation Board members are hoping to give children a place to cool off at the new playground this summer, but they need the help of the community.

The board already has received a $5,000 donation toward the installation of a splash pad consisting of arched fountains and squirting columns. Board members hadn't been expecting to purchase the splash pad this year, but due to the large donation, only $2,300 is needed.

That's where the community can pitch in. Board members are asking neighbors to contribute to the project, but they only have a two-week window to place the order in time for the summer.
