Plum Borough Council Salutes Oakmont Elks Soccer Shoot Winners

The 2011 Annual Elks Soccer Shoot sponsored by the Oakmont Elks of Pennsylvania was attended by 56 shooters, 27 girls plus 29 boys, in a contest to determine winners to move forward.

The eight first place winners advanced to the PA State Soccer Shoot for another round of contests. One of the girl shooters, Laura Pearlman of New Kensington, age group Under 10, won first place in the state and she will advance to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Soccer Shoot that brings winners from New Jersey, West Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, Washington DC, Delaware and Pennsylvania.

At its January meeting, Plum Borough Council awarded certificates to each of the winners in recognition of the young persons participation in the Elks program, with their congratulations and wishes for continued success.
