Plum EMS 2013 Subscription Drive Under Way

The cost is $40 for an annual subscription.

Plum Emergency Medical Services has started collecting subscriptions for 2013.

This year, Plum EMS has filmed a video with testimonials from borough residents who have used the non-profit organization's services as part of its "It Can Happen to You" campaign. (The video has been attached to the media section of this article).

Bob Moran, deputy director of Plum EMS, said the service is receiving positive feedback from people who have watched the video.

Plum EMS responded to 2,750 calls for help in 2012. Moran said about 12,000 subscriptions have been mailed to residents.

Subscriptions cost $40 for residences and businesses in the borough. The cost covers unlimited emergency transportation that meets guidelines for true emergencies. The EMS service also relies on the annual contribution to help with daily operating costs.

If an owner/employee of a subscribing business becomes ill or injured while at work, coverage will be extended as a subscriber of Plum EMS (as long as it's not a worker's comp claim).
