Plum Native Miranda Maleski Gets the Boot on "So You Think You Can Dance"

Maleski is sent home after being in the bottom three couples for the second time.

Plum native Miranda Maleski's journey on "So You Think You Can Dance" is over.

Maleski—a contestant in the Top 20 of the show—and her partner, Robert Taylor Jr., performed a broadway routine to "It Don't Mean a Thing (If it Ain't Got That Swing)" by Sophisticated Ladies on Wednesday night. After America's vote, it was announced on Thursday night's results show that they would be going home.

The judges said Maleski has shown the most growth of all the dancers on the show.

Before the judges' decision, Maleski—a contemporary dancer—danced a 30-second solo to Maria Zouroudis' "Unthinkable" to fight for her spot on the show.

It wasn't enough. She and Taylor were the third couple to go home.

Nigel Lythgoe, judge and executive producer of the show, said the decision was not unanimous in terms of sending Maleski home.

Maleski said she was happy to have had the opportunity.

"I'm so grateful," she said.

The next performance show will air Wednesday at 8 p.m. on FOX. The winner of the show wins $500,000.
