A portion of the main artery between Oakmont and Verona boroughs will be closed to traffic this weekend.
Crews will be working on Allegheny River Boulevard between Plum Street and College Avenue. The road closes at 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 9, and opens Monday, Aug. 12, at 6 a.m.
Motorists should follow this detour:
Northbound on Allegheny River Boulevard
From Allegheny River Boulevard, turn onto --Sandy Creek Road (Route 130)
Turn left onto Verona Road (Route 2058)
Bear right onto Saltsburg Road (Route 2058)
Turn left onto Hulton Road (Route 2074)
Turn left onto Milltown Road (Route 2058)
Milltown Road becomes Hulton Road
Follow Hulton Road to Allegheny River Boulevard
End detour
Southbound on Allegheny River Boulevard
Same route in opposite direction
Work on the road includes milling and resurfacing, base repairs, drainage upgrades, bridge improvements, line painting and other minor construction. The Derry Construction Company, Inc. is the main contractor.
Motorists should use caution, slow down and allow extra time when traveling through the area.
