The Revitalization Plan

Led by the Verona Business District Advisory Committee, the streetscape improvement plan includes 46 lights and landscaping along Allegheny River Boulevard; Center, South and East Railroad avenues; and James Street.

To help pay for the lighting project, the borough already has received two federal Community Development Block Grant funds obtained from Allegheny County of $143,000 and $150,000

Verona must also contribute cash or in-kind services to the project.

The borough also has hired Franco Electric to install lighting along Allegheny River Boulevard for close to $240,000, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
