Riverside Park Ice Skating Season Ends Before Ever Beginning

The ice rink has been at the Oakmont park since December, but it never opened to the public.

For the first time, Riverside Park in Oakmont offered ice skating as a winter activity for residents—but no one had an opportunity to use the rink.

The Oakmont Recreation Board purchased the ice rink this year and installed it in December. Because of very mild temperatures this winter, the ice never set completely and the rink never opened to the public.

The rec board is seeking volunteers to help disassemble the rink on Saturday, Feb. 25, at 9 a.m. Anyone interested in helping should stop by the park.
