Riverside Women's Association Invites Children to Poster Painting Contest

The group is hosting a Halloween poster painting contest on Saturday, Oct. 22. Registration is open until Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Children in grades 3 to 8 are invited to get their creative juices flowing during the Riverside Women's Association's fifth annual Halloween Poster Painting Contest.

The contest will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Maryland Avenue clock tower in Oakmont.

Individuals and teams of two or three can paint Halloween or autumn themed posters on merchant windows. Children will receive window assignments and supplies at the clock tower. Artwork will be created on site.

Paint, craft paper and brushes will be provided. Children are asked to bring four to six containers to hold paint; masking tape and newspaper; pencils, chalk and additional brushes; and rags and a gallon of water to clean up with.

Judging begins at 4 p.m. Winners will be announced by 5. Posters will be on display until Oct. 30.
