Riverview Community Action Corp. Extends Hours Due to Heat

Riverview Community Action Corp. in Oakmont will be open until 5:30 p.m. to provide senior citizens extra relief from the day's hot temperatures.

With temperatures expected to reach 86 degrees with a heat index of 91 degrees today, county senior citizens can visit any of the county-funded senior center during regular hours of operation (up to eight hours during peak heat times) to socialize and enjoy some activities while taking refuge from the heat.

RCAC is located at 501 Second St. in Oakmont. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. The center's phone number is 412-828-1062.

Plum Senior Community Center is located at 499 Center-New Texas Road in Plum. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The center's phone number is 412-795-2330.
