School Road Becomes One-Way In Plum

A road in Plum has become one-way due to increased school traffic.

Already in effect, School Road traffic must travel east bound, entering on the Old Leechburg Road side and exiting onto Center New Texas Road.

The Plum Borough School District is re-opening the “Old” Pivik Elementary School in the Fall of 2013 to house students from Adlai Stevenson Elementary School while the new school is being built. According to the district, more than 1,000 students will attend the old and new Pivik Schools. Borough and school officials--with the help of a traffic engineer--determined making the road one way would make it safer for students and parents.

Police ask residents to use caution and obey all relevant signage and roadway markings when traveling in the area.
