Twin Boro 5K on Saturday is a Success

Runners beat the heat to participate in local 5K.

It was a hot Saturday, but that didn't stop runners from racing in the Twin Boro 5K event.

Oakmont resident and race coordinator Palma Ostrowski said she was happy with the 158 participants.

"We're very pleased," she said. "It was hot weather for running, but people still came out.

"We're so thankful for the community support and the help of Oakmont police Chief (David) DiSanti and Verona Chief (Ron) McLemore with the course. It was so great."

The 3.1 mile run started and ended at Riverside Park in Oakmont. Proceeds of the event will benefit Riverside Park.
