Brentwood-Filmed Movie to Be Screened at Oakmont Theater This Month

The entire movie was shot at a house along Lawnview Avenue earlier this decade.

Though it's becoming increasingly common for moviemakers to film scenes in the Pittsburgh area, it's very odd that an entire movie is shot in just one location—and in this case, in just one house ... in Brentwood.

But that's exactly where the 2013 mystery-thriller Kultur Shock! was filmed over two years earlier this decade. Pretty much every scene in the film—"Ninety-nine percent," producer Eric Paul Chapman said—was captured at 423 Lawnwood Ave., just south of the north Baldwin Borough border.

The 85-minute independent movie, being billed as a science fiction inspired by The Twilight Zone, will have its local premiere at The Oaks Theater in Oakmont Borough on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $7 per general admission and $5 per senior and student (with IDs).

You can contact The Oaks Theater at 412-828-6322 for more information. Click here for driving directions.
