Oakmont Historical Society Meeting

On Monday, April 23 at 6:30 pm, the Oakmont Historical Society will have their monthly meeting which will feature guest speaker Charles "Skip" Culleiton. Culleiton, an author and historian from the Alle-Kiski Valley Heritage Museum, will give a presentation on the inclines of Pittsburgh.

On Wednesday, April 25 at 6:30 pm, librarian and archivist Stephanie Zimble will be giving a presentation at the library titled From Your Attic to the Archives. April 22-28th is the American Library Association’s National Preservation Week, a time to highlight what we can do to preserve our personal and shared collections. This talk by Stephanie Zimble will focus on simple ways that you can extend the life of your personal collections of photographs, documents, and other materials. We will also discuss how your individual collection could be important to local history and ways that libraries and archives preserve and protect their materials. Items from the Oakmont Carnegie Library archives will be on display during this presentation
