Valentine's Date Guide

Even though Valentine’s Day falls on a Monday this year, local couples will have plenty of options for romantic dining over the weekend. 

“We’ve created a weekly special menu for Valentine’s day,” said Grainne Trainor owner of. 

The specials will be available Tuesday through Saturday night.

Restaurants are ending specials on Saturday, Feb 13 to cater to those hoping to celebrate early. The cozy, intimate style of The Mighty Oak Restaurant could make it the right place for couples, Trainor said.

“The atmosphere is quite conducive to romantic dinners,” she said.  

Couples will enjoy the wide selection on their special appetizer and entrée menus that include locally made seafood ravioli and porcini mushroom stuffed lamb meatballs.

There also will be specials at the wine bar, with champagne by the glass.

Those hoping for more of an international flair can visit Zaiaka Authentic Indian Cuisine.

Each Valentine’s Day meal from Saturday until Monday will include a complementary glass of wine, said owner Meena Kumar. 

The restaurant is already decorated for the holiday, and every woman on a Valentine’s Day date will be treated to a rose with her meal, Kumar said.

Music lovers can enjoy local band The Businessmen at in Plum on Saturday night at 8:30 PM. 

The restaurant also will have sweetheart dinner specials with steak and chicken on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, owner John Palmieri said.

Several other local restaurants have specials for the upcoming date nights:

• will be serving a special petite filet minion with a chocolate brandy sauce on Friday, Saturday and Monday, according to owner David Ariondo.
• Notion in Oakmont is almost completely booked for Saturday, and will be treating their diners to a special three-course tasting menu Friday, Saturday and Monday which is designed specifically for Valentine’s Day.
• Sister restaurants and are also running specials over Valentine’s Day weekend and Monday. Hoffstot’s will have a four-course tour of seafood that includes oysters, jumbo lump crab and a raspberry truffle tart. The Chelsea Grille has a Valentine’s dinner for two with coconut shrimp and filet blackenzola.
