Body of Missing East Deer Woman Found in Plum

Jill Clark's husband confessed to killing her and led police to her body, left near a gas line utility road off Old Leechburg Road.

Police discovered the body of Jill Clark, 50, the missing Penn Hills Post Office worker from East Deer, at 7:10 a.m. Saturday morning near a gas line road off Old Leechburg Road in Plum.

Her husband, Thomas Clark, 50, has admitted to killing her with a floor jack after arguing with her over an affair, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Clark first told she left their residence after a late-night fight on Monday. Jill Clark was reported missing on Tuesday by co-workers.

Friday, Thomas Clark tried to kill himself by overdosing on heroin before he was found in Deer Lakes Park. Later that day, about 10:40 p.m., Allegheny County Police Homicide unit detectives found the family's Dodge van parked along a street in New Kensington while following up on leads.

According to a press release issued by county police Lt. Andrew Schurman, Thomas Clark had loaned the vehicle to a man in exchange for an amount of illegal narcotics.

Jill Clark's body was transported to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s office where the cause and manner of her death will be determined.

Thomas Clark will be charged with homicide, abuse of a corpse, and tampering with evidence. He is being lodged in the Allegheny County Jail while awaiting arraignment. 

"Please express our thanks to our families, who sacrificed their plans and time together so the detectives could bring this case to fruition," Schurman said.
