Author Gerald Elias Signs Books, Plays Violin at Mystery Lovers

Mystery Lovers Bookshop in Oakmont will host Elias on Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Author Gerald Elias will visit in Oakmont on Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Elias, who is associate concertmaster and a violinist with the Utah Symphony and the author of three mysteries featuring blind concertmaster Daniel Jacobus, will be at the store at 7 p.m.

Elias will have the third Daniel Jacobus mystery Death and the Maiden (also available as an eBook), a look behind the scenes at the competitive and sometimes dangerous world of classical music. Along with the more traditional author talk Elias also will entertain visitors with a solo performace of, what else from Death and the Maiden by Franz Shubert.

The first appearance of Daniel Jacobus, The Devil's Trill (also available as an eBook), is already available in paperback and the second, Danse Macabre (also available as an eBook), will be in paper in time for Elias's event.
