This November he will challenge incumbent Nicholas Futules (D-Oakmont) for the District 7 seat which represents parts of Plum, Oakmont, Penn Hills, Verona, Harmar, Cheswick, Springdale and Wilkins.

Owner of Complete Business Tax Services in Penn Hills and a certified public accountant, Dell is chair of Plum Council’s finance committee.

He has said in the past that he hopes to improve the county's private sector and reduce taxes.

“As an accountant,” he said, “cash flow is definitely going to be the key for the next year.”

Meakem agreed. He said Dell has helped the borough to save $1 million over the course of two years and also helped council to avoid raising taxes.

“He’s got this great business experience,” Meakem said. “(He’s) exactly the kind of guy we need on county council.”

Meakem, an entrepreneur and venture capitalist who hosts a morning radio show on FM talk station 104.7 said his discussion will address topic like challenges the local economy faces and improving government.

Among his concerns are government growth and dependency, he said.

“I’m going to keep it short and take a lot of questions,” he said.
