Restaurant Spotlight: Hoffstot's Cafe Monaco

Operated by Dan and Tom Monaco, the restaurant and bar is a popular haunt with locals.

Featuring an upscale ambiance in the restaurant and a casual feeling in the spacious bar section, Hoffstot’s has been in business for four decades. The restaurant features a diverse menu of seafood, pasta, veal, poultry, Italian specialties, sandwiches and “creative sides.”

The restaurant’s head chef is Brian Leri, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York who previously worked at the Duquesne Club in downtown Pittsburgh. 

The sous chef is Kevin Barwell, a Pennsylvania Culinary Institute of Pittsburgh graduate who has worked at the restaurant for 10 years.

The restaurant also offers catering. On Mondays through Fridays, there is an early bird special on entrees from 4 to 6 p.m.
