If the first words out of your mouth every morning are, “I’ll have a large coffee”—or if you can’t even speak until after you’ve had your java fix—there's a national holiday created especially for you.
America will put staunch tea drinkers to shame on National Coffee Day on Saturday, Sept. 29, when coffee fiends can rejoice and celebrate their beloved coffee bean with free brew from national chains.
So, where can you get free or discounted coffee in Plum, Oakmont and Verona?
Oakmont Bakery, located on Allegheny Avenue in Oakmont, is offering a free 12-ounce coffee on Saturday with the purchase of a bagel, doughnut or pastry.
McDonald's is giving away free 12-ounce coffees through Saturday. No purchase is necessary, and coffee will be available in the drive-through or in the restaurants. Stop by the Verona location on Allegheny River Boulevard or the Plum location along Route 286.
Dunkin' Donuts is offering small, 10-ounce Hot or 16-ounce Iced Lattes for 99 cents, with a printable coupon. Visit the Verona location along Allegheny River Boulevard.
Starbucks is offering some specials. From now until Nov. 12, if you buy a coffee traveler, you will get a $5 gift card. Anyone who buys one pack of k-cups will get one free through Sunday, Sept. 30.
7-Eleven's CofFREE Day means a free large coffee for anyone who stops by a participating 7-Eleven store between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 28. There aren't any stores locally, but you might pass one on your way to work!
