About 3,300 Duquesne Light Customers Remain Without Power

An update from Duquesne Light spokesman Joey Vallarian.

Tonight’s thunderstorms and high winds have resulted in some Duquesne Light customers seeing service disruptions, and as of 10 p.m., there are approximately 3,300 customers out of service, according to Duquesne Light spokesman Joey Vallarian.

He said Duquesne Light crews are in the process of restoring power by removing trees and repairing downed wires. 

Currently, the areas hardest hit by the storm are in the eastern and northern suburbs of Allegheny County.

System restoration time is undetermined at this time, as the damage to the electrical system is still being assessed. 

Residents also are asked to please report any outages by calling Duquesne Light at 1-888-393-7000 or by visiting www.duquesnelight.com.

Downed wires are a safety hazard and should be avoided. They pose the danger of electrical shock and injury. Residents are advised to not drive over or go near downed wires.
