The National Weather Service has announced that the heat index will go above 95 degrees in Allegheny County this afternoon.
The high temperatures could be uncomfortable and dangerous. People spending a lot of time outside should wear light weight and loose-fitting clothing, and drink a lot of water to avoid heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Otherwise, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun or try to reschedule stenos outdoor activities to the evening.
