Breast Cancer Myths Topic of Monroeville Luncheon

Register now for the upcoming meeting with a special guest from Forbes Regional Hospital.

The Monroeville Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Women in Leadership meeting Oct. 21, focused on debunking the myths of breast cancer, with a special guest from Forbes Regional Hospital.

Sponsored by Westinghouse, Burkett Law Offices, Juniper Village, NPV Productions, Pink Tie Affair and the Pittsburgh Business Times, the event will be held at Tolerico’s Restaurant at 2525 Monroeville Blvd.

Karen Schwaderer, RN, BSN, OCN and Breast Care Coordinator at Forbes Regional Hospital is the speaker. The hospital is a proud participant in the 2011 . MedLine, the manufacturer of the pink gloves, began the competition after a hospital in Oregon posted a video of their pink glove dance online and it went viral.

Now, Forbes is in competition with over 135 hospitals from across the country. If they win, the prize money will go toward the Forbes Regional breast cancer program. Visit the video here and click "like" to vote.

Registration and networking begins at 11:30 a.m. while lunch and the program starts at noon. The cost is $20 for MACC members and $25 for non-members. Pre-payment is required and can be completed by calling 412-856-0622. Those interested must RSVP by noon Oct. 18.
