County Health Department Issues Consumer Alert on Dragon Restaurant in Verona

Restaurant cited for many health violations.

A consumer alert on the Dragon Restaurant in Verona continues.

The Chinese restaurant was open today, though the Allegheny County Health Department issued the alert on June 10.

According to the health department website, the restaurant is cited for:

  • Keeping potentially hazardous foods at unsafe temperatures.
  • Having inadequate facilities to maintain product temperature.
  • Not protecting foods from cross contamination.
  • Having excessive sanitizer in wiping cloth container.

According to an article on WPXI, the health department's report noted that raw chicken was stored on top of vegetables, food was thawing in standing water and the restaurant didn't have a certified manager.

If the restaurant corrects the problems, the health department will remove the alert.
