Down Wire Causes Power Outage on Verona Hilltop

Verona emergency officials have blocked off the intersection at First and North avenues due to a down power line.

Police are waiting for Duquesne Light to arrive on site to repair the line, which is a result of the severe weather in the area.

Residents of the Verona hilltop have been without power since about 6:30 p.m.

Duquesne Light representatives originally had said power would be back by 9:30 p.m.

Approximately 6,300 Duquesne Light customers were out of service since 6 p.m. this evening.
