Edgewater at Oakmont Development Receives 'Excellence in Design' Award

The new Oakmont development is being recognized by James Hardie.

Edgewater at Oakmont has been recognized by James Hardie Industries for its neighborhood design and sustainable construction.

The new housing development, located at the former Edgewater Steel site, has received the 2012 "Excellence in Design Award" in the Pittsburgh area.

The award is given to builders who are dedicated to creating environmentally friendly, long-lasting communities.

Edgewater at Oakmont is a master plan community that includes 242 single family and multifamily residences, independent shops, and neighborhood restaurants. After years of the land lying vacant, Kacin Companies and EQA worked with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to reclaim and redevelop the land.
