Local Synagogues to Hold Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur Services

The high holidays begin Sunday at sundown.

Two synagogues in Monroeville will be hold Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur services beginning this weekend.

Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year, begins Sunday at sundown. Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year for Jewish people, begins Sept. 25.

Here are service times from Temple David in Monroeville and the Chabad Jewish Center of Monroeville.

  • Rosh Hashana day, Monday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. 
  • Rosh Hashana children's service, Monday, Sept. 17, at 3 p.m.   
  • Tashlich, Monday, Sept. 17,  at 4:15 p.m.
  • Rosh Hashana second-day morning services, Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 10 a.m. 
  • Kol Nidrei/Yom Kippur eve, Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m. 
  • Yom Kippur Day, Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 10 a.m.

  • Rosh Hashana day, Monday, Sept. 17 at 9:30 a.m.
  • Rosh Hashana second-day, Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 9:30 a.m. 
  • Kol Nidrei/Yom Kippur eve, Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m. 
  • Yom Kippur Day, Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 10 a.m. Closing services will be held at 6 p.m.
