Long-Term Restrictions on Freeport Road in Harmar Begin this Week

Here's a traffic update.

Beginning Thursday, traffic on Freeport Road in Harmar will be reduced to single 10-foot wide lane in each direction between the Hulton Bridge and Guys Run Road through late May.

The road will be closed for a project that will rehabilitate the bridge that carries Freeport Road over Barge Basin (Guys/Campbells Run). Work includes deck replacement, structural steel painting, substructure concrete repairs, barrier, drainage, bearings, approaches and other improvements.

Currently, crews are conducting preliminary work needed for the rehabilitation project. Short-term lane closures will occur as needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
