More PennDOT Road Work Occurring in Our Area Next Week

Here's an update of road work in the area.

There's going to be a lot of roadwork going on in the Plum-Oakmont and surrounding areas next week.

Here's a look at some of the work occuring Monday, May 21, to Friday, May 25:

Seal Coat Maintenance—Crews will be sealing ("tar and chips") local roads next week. Those roads include Poketa/Hulton Road in the Verona/Penn Hills area from Verona Road to Milltown Road; Shannon Road in the Verona/Penn Hills area from Hamill Road to Second Avenue; Hunter Road near the Verona/Oakmont/Penn Hills border from Allegheny River Boulevard to Hamill Road; and Saltsburg Road from the Westmoreland County line, through Plum, and to Frankstown Road in Penn Hills.

Bridge Cleaning—Crews will be cleaning the Allegheny River Boulevard viaduct in Verona from Union Street to Plum Street. Work also will occur on Saltsburg Road in Penn Hills from Universal Road to Davidson Road.

Paving—Leechburg Road in Penn Hills will be paved from Saltsburg Road to Milltown-Unity Road. Lane closures will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

All activities are weather permitting. Lane closures and restrictions should be expected in work areas. Motorists are urged to call 1-800 FIX ROAD to report roadway concerns on state routes and interstates. Litter and debris removal and pothole patching will occur in various areas as needed.
