New Hulton Road Bridge to Open Thursday

The bridge that runs over Plum Creek near the Penn Hills/Plum border has been closed since April.

The new bridge that carries Hulton Road over Plum Creek in Plum and Penn Hills will open to traffic weather permitting on Thursday, June 7.

The bridge is expected to open by early evening Thursday.

Hulton Road has been closed since early April in the bridge area between Arbor Lane and Kirk Drive. About 5,551 vehicles use this roadway on an average day.

The $1.7 million project removed and replaced the existing bridge with a new structure and roadway approaches. Minor work will continue in the bridge
area through late August.

Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and allow extra time when traveling through the area.

The prime contractor is the Mekis Construction Corporation of Fenelton, PA.
