Northbound Route 28 Brief Closure Friday in Pittsburgh

Closure to occur at 1 p.m.

PennDOT District 11 is announcing northbound (outbound) Route 28 will be closed briefly Friday afternoon, June 24.

The closure will begin at approximately 1 p.m. and continue for about one hour to allow crews to conduct asphalt patching in the northbound single lane before the 40th Street Bridge. The 31st Street Bridge will be temporarily reopened to accommodate the detour. Signs will be posted to guide motorists.

  • Turn right onto the 31st Street Bridge
  • Make left onto Penn Avenue
  • Continue north onto Butler Street
  • Make left onto 40th Street Bridge
  • End detour at northbound Route 28

Motorists should be prepared for delays and stop conditions. Please allow extra time when traveling through the area and consider alternate routes.
