Northbound Route 28 Ramp to Route 366 Long-Term Closure Begins Tuesday

Here's a traffic update.

The ramp from northbound Route 28 to Route 366 (Exit 14 Bull Creek Road) in Tarentum will be closed long-term beginning weather permitting on Tuesday, Aug. 28.

Crews will be removing and replacing pavement at the ramp intersection with Route 366. The closure will begin at approximately 10 a.m. and will continue around-the-clock through mid-September. Signs will be posted to guide motorists.

  • Continue northbound on Route 28 past the off-ramp
  • Take the off-ramp at the next interchange to Burtner Road (Exit 15 Route 1032)
  • Make left and travel under Route 28
  • Take on-ramp to southbound Route 28
  • Exit at Route 366
  • End detour

About 13,000 vehicles use this ramp on an average day. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area.

The $7.7 million project will improve about 1.6 miles of Route 366 from the New Kensington side of the Tarentum Bridge to Route 1034 (two lane section of Bull Creek Road) west of the Route 28 interchange in Fawn Township. Overall work will conclude in late November.
