Opa! It's Time for the Greek Food Festival

The festival will be held this weekend, June 22 to 24, in Oakmont.

For 38 years, the community and the members of the in Oakmont have been coming together to celebrate the annual Greek Food Festival.

Each year, patrons from all over the region visit the church festival, which is held the last full weekend of June.

Visitors can take a tour of Greece with their palates as they enjoy many of the country's entrees and deserts.

Some of the food sold includes lamb shank, chicken glazed with fruit and honey, gyros, smelts, stuffed grape leaves, honeyballs, baklava, and much more.

The Grecian Express Band will be playing music throughout the three nights, and the Grecian Odyssey Dancers will perform at around 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. all three nights.

The church bookstore, where patrons can buy a variety of Greek gifts and religious items, also will be open.
