Patching, Bridge Inspection and More to Occur in Plum-Oakmont Area

Here's a look at where PennDOT crews will be this week.

Several road projects in the Plum-Oakmont surrounding areas are included in the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's weekly maintenance schedule. Work will occur in the following areas—weather permitting—through Friday, Sept. 7.

Lane closures and restrictions should be expected in work areas.

  • Patching will occur on Drennan Road from the Westmoreland County line to Sardis Road.
  • Work to inspect the bridge that carries Route 28 over Guys Run in Harmar Twill occur next week, Tuesday through Thursday. Crews will be conducting inspection activities on the Barge Basin Bridge—south of the Harmar/Route 910 Interchange (Exit 11). Lane closures will occur in the bridge area from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Both directions will not be restricted simultaneously.
  • Sweeping will occur on the Parkway East from the Pennsylvania Turnpike (near the Plum exit) to the Beaver County line.
  • Drainage will occur on Powers Run Road in O'Hara Township from Freeport Road (directly across the river from the Oakmont-Verona area) to Camberwell Drive.

Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down and anticipate changing traffic patterns, lane closures and possible delays when traveling through the area.  Motorists also can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions and cameras on major roadways before traveling.
