PennDOT Crews Work on Local Roads, Parkway East This Week
Here's this week's roadwork roundup.
Several local roads are included in PennDOT's maintenance schedule through Friday, Sept. 21.
Here's a look at what's going on this week:
Roadwork in the Plum-Oakmont Area
Pipe repair work will occur on Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum borough from Logans Ferry Road to Kerr Road.
Inlet repair work and patching will occur on Leechburg Road in Plum from Shearer Road to Sardis Road. Patching also will occur nearby on Freeport Road in Harmar/O'Hara from the Hulton Bridge to Powers Run Road.
Parkway East
Squirrel Hill Tunnel
Outbound Squirrel Hill Tunnel on the Parkway East will be reduced to a single lane on Monday and Thursday nights.
Single lane traffic will occur from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. both nights in the outbound tunnel. Crews will be conducting preliminary activities for rehabilitation work set to occur in the outbound tunnel next year.
Bridge Inspection
Bridge inspection activities on the Parkway East between the Penn Hills (Exit 81) and Monroeville/Plum (Exit 84) interchanges will occur Monday through Thursday weather permitting.
Lane closures will occur from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as needed in each direction. Both directions will not be restricted simultaneously. PennDOT bridge inspection crews will conduct the work.
Crack Sealing
Crack and joint sealing operations on the Parkway East will occur nightly through Tuesday, Sept. 25.
Short-term lane closures and traffic shifts will occur in both directions from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday nights between the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Churchill interchanges.
