PennDOT Crews Work on Local Roads this Week

Here's a roundup of some road projects in the Plum-Oakmont and surrounding areas.

Several road projects in Plum-Oakmont and surrounding areas are included in the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's weekly maintenance schedule. Work will occur in the following areas—weather permitting—through Friday, July 13.

Lane closures and restrictions should be expected in work areas.

Inlet repairs will occur on New Texas Road in Plum from Saltsburg to Old Leechburg roads.

Inlet flushing will occur on Old Frankstown Road in the Monroeville/Plum area from Universal to New Texas roads; and on Poketa Road in Penn Hills (near the Verona border) from Verona to Milltown-Unity roads.

Litter removal will occur on the Parkway East all week from the Pennsylvania Turnpike entrance/exit in Monroeville to the Fort Pitt Tunnel in Pittsburgh.

Motorists are advised to use caution, slow down and anticipate changing traffic patterns, lane closures and possible delays when traveling through the area.  Motorists also can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions and cameras on major roadways before traveling.
