Port Authority Proposal Includes Service Cuts in Plum-Oakmont Area

Routes in Plum and Oakmont will be cut, and Verona will have no bus service.

If the Port Authority Transit of Allegheny County doesn't receive more funding, services in the Plum-Oakmont area will be cut greatly by the time September rolls around.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Port Authority has unveiled a proposal outlining changes in services, fares and employement that would occur if its current budget deficit of $64 million isn't remedied.

The proposal includes the elimination of the P78 Oakmont Flyer and the P12 Holiday Park Flyer, express routes in Oakmont and Plum, respectively. The P16 Penn Hills Flyer (which services parts of Plum and Oakmont) and the P67 Monroeville Flyer also would be cut.
