Road Projects Planned for Plum-Oakmont Area This Week

PennDOT crews will be working on several roads in the area.

Several road projects in Plum-Oakmont and surrounding areas are included in the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation's weekly maintenance schedule. Work will occur in the following areas—weather permitting—through Friday, April 6.

Lane closures and restrictions should be expected in work areas.

Crews will be patching Hunter Road in Plum from Allegheny River Boulevard  to Hamill Road; Old Leechburg Road in Plum from Sardis Road to Unity Center Road; Long Road in Penn Hills from Frankstown Road to Beulah Road; and Route 28 from the Highland Park Bridge to Butler County.

Inlet cleaning will occur in Harmar on Freeport Road from Pearl Avenue to Route 910.

Litter will be removed on the Parkway East from the Plum/Turnpike exit to the Squirrel Hill tunnel; and on Route 28 from the Highland Park Bridge to Butler County.

Traffic on southbound (inbound) Route 28 in Millvale also will be reduced to a single lane nightly Monday through Thursday. Crews will be installing signs between the Millvale interchange (Exit 3) and the former Millvale Industrial Park south of the 40th Street Bridge. Single lane restrictions will occur as needed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Brief stoppages of 15 minutes or less may also occur on northbound Route 28.

Motorists are urged to call 1-800 FIX ROAD to report roadway concerns on state routes and interstates. Litter and debris removal and pothole patching will occur in various areas as needed.

Motorists also can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions and cameras on major roadways before traveling.
