Route 28/Freeport Road Ramp Improvements Begin Thursday

Here's a traffic update. Long-term restrictions will be necessary.

Plum-Oakmont residents who jump on Route 28 via O'Hara Township should be aware of upcoming restrictions.

Work to improve Route 1002—the ramps/roadway connecting Freeport Road to Route 28—in O’Hara will begin on Thursday, July 12, weather permitting.  

Crews will be concrete patching. Long-term lane closures will occur in each direction on Route 1002 between Route 28 and Freeport Road beginning at 7 a.m. on Thursday continuously through mid-August.

PennDOT’s Allegheny County maintenance unit will perform the work. 

Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and allow extra time when traveling through the area. Visit 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on major roadways before traveling.
