Route 28 Lane Restrictions Begin Wednesday

Lane restrictions on portions of southbound Route 28 begin today, Sept. 5.

Short term, alternating left and right lane closures will occur in Shaler Township daily from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Sept. 28 at the Millvale Interchange. One 12-foot travel lane will remain open at all times.

Crews will conduct expansion dam replacements during the closures.

Traffic in the area of the 40th Street Bridge in Millvale will be reduced to a single lane on Thursday, Sept. 6, weather permitting. The left lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday between the Millvale interchange (Exit 3) and the former Millvale Industrial Park south of the 40th Street Bridge. Crews will perform utility work.

Motorists are advised to use caution and allow extra travel time.
