Traffic will begin to use a portion of the newly reconstructed eastbound lanes of Route 366 (Bull Creek Road) in Tarentum today, Sept. 7.
The off-ramp from northbound Route 28 to Route 366 is expected to opn by this evening. Approximately 13,000 vehicles use this ramp on an average day.
Crews have been working this week to transition traffic from the westbound lanes of Route 366 to the eastbound lanes in the area of East 10th Avenue/Freeport Road (Route 1001). After the transition is complete on Friday, work will begin in this area to reconstruct the westbound lanes of Route 366.
Work to shift all traffic in the project area to the new eastbound lanes and begin reconstruction of the westbound lanes will continue through Sept. 21. Once all traffic is shifted on Sept. 21 to the eastbound side of the roadway, traffic will continue in this pattern through late November.
The following traffic restrictions and construction improvement activities will begin in September. (Note: this schedule is weather permitting and subject to change.)
Friday, Sept. 7
·Beginning at approximately 7 a.m., traffic shifts from westbound lanes to new eastbound lanes in area of East 10th Avenue/Freeport Road (Route 1001).
Monday, Sept. 10
·East 6th Avenue will be closed between Route 366 and Wood Street beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday continuously through Sept. 23. Crews will be concrete patching. Signs will be posted to guide motorists to use East 7th Avenue, right onto to Lock Street turning right back to East 6th Avenue.
Friday, Sept. 21
Traffic through the entire project area will be shifted from the westbound lanes onto the new eastbound lanes. Crews will reconstruct the westbound lanes. This traffic pattern will continue through late November.
The on-ramp from Route 366/1034 to southbound Route 28 will be closed beginning at 9 a.m. continuously through Oct. 4. Crews will be reconstructing the roadway in the ramp intersection. Traffic will be detoured using northbound Route 28 to Exit 15 (Natrona Heights), exiting and taking the southbound Route 28 on-ramp.
Monday, Sept. 24
East 7th Avenue will be closed at the intersection with Route 366 beginning at 9 a.m. Crews will be reconstructing East 7th Avenue. Traffic will be detoured using Route 366 west turning right onto East 8th Avenue, right onto Lock Street, right back to East 7th Avenue. This closure will remain in place through Oct. 7.
