Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Plum-Oakmont Tuesday Afternoon

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for the Plum-Oakmont area until 4 p.m. Tuesday.

At just after 3 p.m., the National Weather Service indicated that a severe thunderstorm capable of producing hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour was located near Murysville.

Plum, Monroeville, Murrysville, Turtle Creek, Delmont, Vandergrift are among the areas included in the warning.

Continuous cloud-to-ground lightning has been reported with the storm. People are advised to move indoors immediately.
