Short-Term Single Lane Traffic to Occur Tuesday on Freeport Road in Harmar

Short-term single lane alternating use traffic on the bridge that carries Freeport Road over Barge Basin (Guys/Campbells Run) in Harmar will occur today, Sept. 25.

Restrictions will occur as needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the bridge area between the Hulton Bridge and Guys Run Road—the road is located right across the Allegheny River from Oakmont Borough. Crews will be moving temporary concrete barrier for the next phase of bridge improvements.   

About 11,098 vehicles use this bridge on an average day. Motorists should be prepared for stop conditions and allow extra time when traveling through the area.

The project includes deck replacement, structural steel painting, substructure concrete repairs, barrier, drainage, bearings, approaches and other improvements. Overall work is expected to be complete in November.
