Shoulder Closures to Occur Saturday on Parkway East

Here's a traffic update.

PennDOT District 11 is announcing intermittent, short-term single lane and shoulder closures will occur in several locations on I-79 and the Parkway East (I-376) on Saturday, weather permitting.

The brief lane closures and restrictions are necessary as contractor crews conduct guide rail repairs. All exits and ramps will remain open. Short-term moving operations will occur between 6 a.m. to noon Saturday in the areas:

I-79
• Both directions between the Bridgeville (Exit 54) and I-376 (Exit 59 Pittsburgh/Parkway West) interchanges

Parkway East (I-376)
• Both directions between the Bates Street/Oakland (Exit 73) and Monroeville (Exit 80) interchanges

The prime contractor for the repairs is Penn Line Services Inc. PennDOT advises motorists to use caution and slow down when traveling through the area. Work zone safety is everyone’s responsibility.
