Snow Continues to Sweep Through the Area

A winter weather advisory has been extended to 7 p.m. Use caution during rush hour.

The National Weather Service in Moon Township has extended its Winter Weather Advisory for the area through 7 p.m. Tuesday. It originally was set for 4 p.m.

The NWS expects an additional 1 to 3 inches of snow to accumulate through the early evening, which will impact the post-work commute.

Ten to 20 mph winds are blowing through the area—with wind gusts up to 30 mph. Temperatures will duck down into the teens as the evening approaches.

Hazardous travel conditions are expected due to reduced visibility and snow accumulation.

Earlier this afternoon, there was limited visibility near the as heavy snow flew through the sky. No major problems with local roadways have been reported.

As always, use caution while driving in increased traffic, as these conditions can cause ice to develop on roads beneath packed down snow.
