Southbound Route 28 Overnight Single Lane Traffic Continues Through Thursday

Traffic on southbound (inbound) Route 28 in the City of Pittsburgh will continue to be reduced to a single through Thursday night, Dec. 6, weather permitting.

Restrictions will occur as needed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night between the 31th Street Bridge and East Ohio Street exit. Crews will perform utility work.

The work is part of the $36.4 million Route 28 Phase IV improvement project. The prime contractor is the Trumbull Corporation of Pittsburgh. Overall work will conclude in fall 2014.

Motorists are advised to use caution and allow extra time when traveling on Route 28. Call 511 or visit 511pa.com to check traffic conditions before traveling.
